The Capsian Civilization


The Capsian culture is one of the oldest known civilizations in Tunisia, dating back to around 8000 BCE. These prehistoric people lived near Gafsa and played a key role in early North African history.

The Capsian era evolved over thousands of years, from early Mesolithic hunter-gatherers to more advanced Neolithic societies with tools, symbolic art, and early burial practices.
